Quick Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting

Ingredients

  • Unsalted Butter- 100gm
  • Sugar – 1 1/2 cup
  • Flour – 1  3/4 cup
  • Eggs – 2
  • Baking powder – 1 1/2 tsp
  • Milk – 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla – 1 tsp

Chocolate Frosting

  • Unsalted butter – 25gm
  • Confectioner’s sugar – 125gm
  • Milk – 2 – 3 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a 9 inch cake tin.

Step 2

In a medium size bowl, beat together all the ingredients until light and fluffy. Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 40 minutes or till a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Step 3

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt together butter & milk. Add sugar and cocoa and let it melt into the milk mixture. Pour over the cake immediately. It will set as it cools.
