Lapsi – Broken wheat sweet, a Fabulous and Popular Sweet from Gujarat which is very famous for Navaratri Celebrations.  Lapsi is made with broken Wheat, it is a very simple dish.

Ingredients

  • Broken wheat – 1 cup
  • Jaggery powdered – 2 cups
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Green cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew – 10 nos

Preparation

Step1

Heat a pan with 3 teaspoons oil, fry the cashews and take them out. In the same pan pour 2 more teaspoons of oil and roast the broken wheat in medium flame till they become dark brown and gives out nice aroma.

Step2

Pour three cups of water and boil the broken wheat. Once they become soft and well-cooked add the Jaggery powder to it and keep stirring. Add the cardamom powder too. While stirring at intervals keep adding ghee in teaspoons. Once the stuff becomes thick and starts giving out ghee switch off the stove

Step3

Add the roasted cashews. The delicious Lapsi Sweet is ready to offer as Prasad.
