Boil the raw banana in water with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder. Grind the ingredients mentioned under ‘grinding’ into a paste.
Drain the banana and set aside. In a separate vessel, add the banana pieces along with the remaining ingredients and stir for 5 minutes.
Sauté the ground paste in a separate vessel with a little coconut oil and mix with yogurt.
Add this mixture to the cooked banana and let it boil till thickens. Remove from the fire.
Splutter the ingredients given for tempering in a bit of hot oil. Saute for 10 seconds and sprinkle over the kalan.
