For the marinade
Step1
Prepare marinade with the given ingredients. Marinate the chicken pieces, cover and keep aside in the fridge for half an hour.
Step2
Heat oil in a deep-bottomed vessel. Add ginger garlic paste and stir for a minute.

Add chopped onion pieces and fry till light brown.
Step4
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and chicken masala. Add the marinated chicken and mix well till all the pieces are coated. Add salt to taste.
Step5
Cover and cook on low heat, for about 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender. You can add water if you want a thinner gravy. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
