Ingredients

  • Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar powdered – 1 cup
  • Egg – 1
  • Maida – 2 cup
  • Baking soda – 1 teaspoon
  • Milk (room temperature) – ¾ cup
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • For cinnamon sugar mixture
    • Sugar powdered – 1/3 cup
    • Cinnamon powder – 1 teaspoon

Preparation

Step1

Preheat oven to 180C and butter a loaf tin (9 x3 inches).

Step2

In a small bowl, mix together milk and curd. Set it aside for 5 minutes.

Step3

In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar until pale. Add the egg and beat well to mix,about 20 seconds.

Step4

Add the maida, baking soda and milk mixture to it and beat well to mix, about 30 seconds.

Step5

In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar and cinnamon.

Step6

Spread half of the cake batter into the loaf tin and sprinkle three-fourth of the cinnamon sugar over it. Spread the remaining cake batter over it and top it with the remaining cinnamon sugar. Take a butter knife and gently swirl it through the cake batter to create a marbled effect.

Step7

Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

Step8

Cool the cake in the tin for 15 minutes. Unmould and let it cool completely.

Step9

Cut them into thick slices and serve it with a hot cup of coffee /tea.
