Step 1
Pressure cook jackfruit along with turmeric, salt and 1 cup water for 5-6 whistles or till is its completely cooked and mashable.
Step 2
Roughly grind together grated coconut, green chilies & cumin seeds along with a few tablespoons of water, if needed.
Step 3
Add the ground paste to the cooked jackfruit and mix well. Adjust salt and add water to loosen the mixture, if needed.
Step 4
In a pan, heat the coconut oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add in the pearl onions and fry till golden. Add the dry red chilies & curry leaves and when they splutter, take it off the heat and pour over the jackfruit mixture.
Serve hot with fish or chicken curry.
